Dr. Tudor
Bompa Sport-specific and fitness training / planning specialist Founder of the Tudor Bompa Institute in Ontario, Canada Dr. Tudor O. Bompa, Professor Emeritus, York University, Toronto, Ontario, is regarded worldwide as the leading specialist in the areas of training, coaching and fitness theory, to which he has contributed several fundamental concepts. Dr. Bompa's theories, especially the theories of planning-periodization (periodization of strength, power, speed and endurance; periodization of fitness, bodybuilding, psychological periodization; and periodization of nutrition), have revolutionized the training of athletes in most countries of the world. Dr. Bompa has published 15 books (all best sellers) translated into 18 languages. Most of these books are used as textbooks in universities, coaching institutions, sports and fitness certification programs and continuing education courses over 180 countries. He has also published over a hundred research papers while and made presentations in over 40 countries on topics such as training theory, planning-periodization, training methods, strength and power training, specifics of training for team sports and more. Tudor Bompa has also been a very prolific coach. In only eight years of international coaching, his athletes won 11 medals (four gold) in Olympic Games and World Championships. He is the only coach who has produced Olympic and World champions in two different sports – track and field and rowing. Frederick Claro
Frederick is the Training Director of the Tudor Bompa Institute (TBI)
for France and Japan. Trained as a Periodization-Planning and Junior Athlete
Training Specialist (TBI P-PS & JATS), he also is a rugby High Performance
Coach who graduated from the New Zealand International Rugby Academy. A former
rugby player at representative level in France, he also practiced martial
arts (Judo & Kendo) and tennis. He is now living in Japan where he is
involved in research on periodization of rugby programs for
junior athletes
aged 6 years and up to 18 years of age. He is also currently writing a book on the
same topic. |
